While many types of mold are colored black, only a few strains are classified as "black mold."

These types of mold, like Stachybotrys, are especially toxic to humans and pets and are most likely to give you mold symptoms. They mostly only grow indoors in poor environments. As a result, if we find any types of black mold, we recommend treatment as soon as possible.
