1) How long does an inspection take?

 

Mold inspections involve looking at the whole house. Inspections may involve testing for mold through various test methods. Depending on the scope of the effort a mold inspection may take from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. A2Z inspections form the basis for recommendations to remediate mold, improve indoor air quality and put your house in the best condition for healthy living.

2) How do you decide when to take mold samples, when are they required?

 

Assessing the situation in each residence or business starts with evaluating the facts presented by the requesting client. Were there water events (indoor flooding), and are there tell-tale signs of discoloration, smells, or health concerns? Did some other home service provider or inspector recommend testing? Mold testing is not required, unless part of a real estate transaction. There are various types of mold tests available. My job is to help you make the right decision in deciding to test for mold. Air samples are the most common type of test and results are available in 2-4 business days.

4) How much do inspections and samples cost?

 

Generally, most residential mold inspections start at a cost of $349. Air sample, swab samples and tape samples are $75 per sample. Other types of testing can be provided under a separate quote.

5) What if the inspection report comes in and reveals mold problems?

​

My report offers a selection of remediation types. My work with Indoor Air Quality companies includes restoration, remediation, and other technical approaches removing mold problems. Post-mold choices for maintaining and enhancing your indoor air quality are discussed as well. In some cases, I offer to provide those products or services consistent with industry best practices and my own professional certifications.
